The Hermon High School Band, led by Director James Zabierek, visited Duran Elementary School last week to play a bit and showcase the different instruments that students might choose to play next year. We are excited to offer Elementary School Band next year for interested 4th grade students and, of course, next year’s 5th graders at Hermon Middle School.
Mr. Zabierek did a great job connecting music performance skills with academic success and highlighted that Band students are also involved in sports, leadership, and clubs. Elementary students had a chance to try out various instruments and talk with the high schoolers. More information will be provided to families in September about enrolling in Band and leasing/purchasing instruments.
